I am a 24 year old American currently living in Guangzhou, China. I moved here in March of 2005 after spending the previous year in Icheon, Korea. I am an English teacher at the moment, but am looking forward to moving back to the States and teaching history… a subject that I am very passionate about.
I am also planning a wedding for September 25th of this year. In my photo albums, you’ll see many pictures of my beautiful fiancee. She keeps me sane in an environment that would otherwise have driven me to insanity long ago.
Contrary to most other westerners living in China, I am not well travelled internationally. However, I did spend my childhood driving around the States with my family, including 45 states and 9 Canadian provinces. Most of the time was spent in the wilderness though and I still have many cities that I am interested in seeing.
I grew up in a small town that has grown quite rapidly since. Hollywood, Maryland is located in St. Mary’s County, which has more than doubled in size during the past decade, thanks to growth at the Patuxent River Naval Base. I am still a bit of a country boy at heart though.
Finally, I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in International Relations and a minor in East Asian History.
